Emails

Are you an "aciever" or an "achiever"? As a business owner, you may have read this email a thousand times over, and are no longer really reading it. An editor can help you find the typos or misused words that your brain glosses over.

Is it an "add" or an "ad"?

"Add" is short for "addition."

"Ad" is short for "advertisement."

In this editing example, the business meant "advertisement" but wrote "add" instead.

An editor like me with help you find that extra letter that changes the meaning of the abbreviation.

What year is it?

A sponsored advertisement on facebook that consistently has 2020 all over it instead of updating it to 2022 globally. Not only will your editor correct typos, they will also go the extra mile for you and make sure that your information and messaging is consistent.

Bryne or Byrne?

Reading a list of Law of Attraction books led me to the following typo in the author of The Secret's last name. The author of this book is Rhonda Byrne, not Rhonda Bryne.

Want to take a peek or take a peak?

If you're an ambitious mountain climber, sure, take that peak (and more power to ya). But I suspect that you want people checking out your deck, so you want the word peeks here.

Please note that all of the above editing examples I found while surfing the Internet or in my email inbox. Imagine what I can do for your writing or web copy if you hire me? And no shame to the people or businesses above in committing these errors. It's just proof of one of my long-held beliefs: everyone needs an editor.
